Crow Nest Park Car Show – Photo Roundup

Howdy folks. We’re just back from today’s classic car show at Crow Nest Park in Dewsbury, and what a great show it was too! With such a huge array of classics in attendance, there really must have been something for everyone. Well done to the YTCC team for making it happen, and thanks to everyone who came out to show off their vehicles.

There were some real beauties on show today, which makes it harder to play my customary ‘Car of the Day’ game, but never fear, I’ve picked my favourite. More on that shortly, but first, some photos.

Get Involved

Now, this post is just a quick photo roundup from today, but if you’re in the mood for some good reading and even better photographs then head over to our blog. Just recently we had a couple of brilliant photoshoots with a 1973 Bond Bug and a stunning 1974 MGB GT V8, both belonging to YTCC members, but there’s plenty more to see over there too. Remember, if you’ve got a classic, you can get in touch to arrange a photoshoot of your own. We’d love to hear from you!

The Prancing Moose

So many cars stood out today that a few honourable mentions are necessary. The 1948 Morris Y van (above) shone with period charm, and I’d love to own something similar one day. I have a huge soft spot for vintage commercials, and it’s an itch that I’ll have to scratch at some point.

The 1978 Volvo 244DL below struck a chord with me too, not least for that striking 70’s colour and those wonderful alloys. I’ve never seen anything that looked quite like this. It was very clean, very cool, and I liked it. I liked it a lot!

Feeling Impish

Further mention must go to this absolutely gorgeous 1972 Hillman Imp. Just look at this thing. What an absolute cracker! It shouldn’t be possible for something to look so cute and so mean at the same time. I bet this thing is a hoot to drive. If you own it, let me know!

Car of the Day

Every time I attend one of these shows, I have a good look around and then decide which car I’d most like to own myself. My choices aren’t always obvious, and they don’t always make sense. It might even be that I couldn’t quite tell you why I liked the particular car more than anything else. I guess my ‘Car of the Day’ choices are simply the cars that stir the most in me on any given day, and today the car that stirred me the most was this.

So what is it?

This lovely pre-war beauty is a 1935 Morris 8, which looked absolutely perfect (to my eyes) in deep blue and black. For an 85+ year old machine, she was in outstanding condition. Sitting there as a testament to the style and grace of her era, she stuck in my head all day.

When I approached the nice lady sitting by the car (photo below), she seemed pretty pleased to have had the positive feedback. Her husband who owns the car seemed less impressed by such a meagre honour. Perhaps he’s used to the attention, or perhaps he’d just have preferred an actual prize. In any case, I didn’t stick around for the prize giving, but I hope that they won one.

Can’t See Your Car?

So that’s the Supercharged Photography roundup of the 2022 Crow Nest Park classic car show from the Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club. There were far too many cars there today to feature them all, so apologies if I didn’t catch yours. I was too busy enjoying myself! Remember though, you can get in touch if you want to arrange a photoshoot of your own. You might even get a special feature right here on the blog, and that’s better than an actual prize, right?!
